THE ALPENIERS

Live at the 'Weintal' (Tanunda)

South Australian showband from the 70's. When these guys have finished cutting loose on Presley's 'G.I. Blues', there's not a dry eye in the house. These recordings come from their LP "Live at the 'Weintal' (Tanunda)" [Sate Recordings Ltd. NCP 255]. Lots of yodelling and Continental hi-jinks. My copy is autographed "..With best wishes from Keith & Les..."

To the Enigmatic Svengali, thanks for introducing me to the Alpeniers. Henry and Caroline immediately recognised Tanunda as a wine growing town in the Barossa Valley (where I am sure these guys were huge with that region's German heritage). I look forward to the "Tyroleans Live at the Cuckoo" restaurant, having dined at that venue with my family when I was young.
Keep the posts coming. Artie Luden

Mr Svengali dude,

Whoa! I can't really believe that ANOTHER human being on this planet actually owns both The Alpeniers AND The Tyroleans LPs - SIGNED! (yes, mine are both signed too). Thank Jeebus for Op Shops, eh? I love it! I love it! I love it!

I wish that your files were still available though because now I'm going to have to bother grabbing them off my own vinyl copies - ah, the agony. Still, it's class - and worth the pain.

Keep up the good work and remember - you're not alone - there are others out here in Melbourne who also appreciate the cheesyness of bad albums. Which is good. We should form a secret society really.

Be good.
Damon :-)
